ABOUT AWARDS

First and foremost, we want to raise awareness and recognition of the work done by tour guides, cooks and porters and their enormous contribution to the tourism industry in Tanzania. It is a contemporary peer recognition design established 2016 for the excellence evaluation, honor, celebration, promotion and collaboration of tourism stakeholders.

Like any other product growth of tourism depends upon tourist satisfaction. Tour Guides play a vital role in bringing satisfaction to tourists visiting our country. The opportunity of direct interaction with the tourists makes them all the more responsible for projecting the correct image of the country, giving factually correct information about the unforgettable Tanzania, ensuring the safety and well being of the tourists as well as pleasant and satisfying stay for them during their visits.

AWARD CATEGORIES:

The award categories are grouped in five focus discpline areas:

• Safari Guide of the Year
• Mountain Guide of the Year
• Porter of the Year
• Safari Chef of the Year
• Cultural Guide of the Year

Tour operators, Travel Agent, Hotels, Associations are allowed and encouraged to submit one entry in multiple categories in Tanzania Tour Guides Awards 2020.
