Tourism Dialogue Portal

The tourism industry in Tanzania plays a significant role in the country’s economy, and it is important to have a cohesive platform where all stakeholders can come together to discuss matters concerning tourism and conservation. Currently, the only available platform is WhatsApp, which has limited participation and makes it difficult to track topics effectively.

Together with Nelson Mandela University alumni, we are building a specialized tourism chat platform that will bring together key players in the industry, including the government, tour operators, hoteliers, and tour guides. This platform will provide a perfect environment for interaction and debate, ensuring that all matters concerning tourism and conservation in Tanzania are discussed collectively and effectively.

The project aims to address various issues that have been hindering effective communication and collaboration in the industry. These include:

Inconvenience of information
Collection of big ideas in one place
Minimization of misinformation
A proper channel for exclusive tourism content
A platform for guides and accommodation nominations
A platform for learning and sharing tourism issues and statistics

Strengthening female tour guiding capacity to promote employability chances

Our efforts in hospitality services enhancements aim to support Tanzanian female tour guides in establishing smooth entrance in tour guiding career.

The tour guiding industry has traditionally been male-dominated, and there is a growing need to increase the representation of women in this field. To address this gender imbalance, we are seeking partners to collaborate with us on a project that will focus on building the capacity and strengthening the skills of female tour guides. Through this initiative, we aim to provide female tour guides with enhanced employability potential and opportunities, thereby creating a more diverse and balanced industry.
